Compatibility of iLife '09 and iWork '09 with Mavericks?

I can't find any definitive or up-to-date information regarding compatibility....

I currently use OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard with iLife '09, and iWork '09 installed from disc.

If I upgrade to OSX Mavericks, will I still be able to use these applications? Or will I be forced to upgrade this, and other apps? Are there still any issues of running Ilife or iWork '09 in Mavericks?

If I am forced to upgrade, is it free, or a reduced upgrade fee from purchasing from new (eg, £10.99 for iPhoto)?

So far all other threads have inconsistent (or maybe misleading) and old responses. The Apple support pages aren't helpful, therefore I assume no compatibility and a purchase upgrade is required?

I am loath to upgrade to Mavericks if I am forced to purchase upgrades for all my Mac App software. Especially as it is still part of the OS X family!

All of iLife 09's apps (except iWeb) and iWork 09 will work with Mavericks. However, a number of users, me included, report that iPhoto 8.1.2 takes a long time to launch, about 30 seconds in my case. Don't know why. Others have reported no problems. Personally I'd upgrade iPhoto.

I don't know about Garageband as I don't use it. It may or may not be compatible.

If you don't upgrade iPhoto to the latest version, 9.5.1, you won't be able to use the iCloud's features regarding photos, My Photo Stream, auto syncing with mobile devices, etc.

I would visit RoaringApps - Application compatibility and feature support for OS X and iOS and check to see if the 3rd party apps that you have will be compatible with Mavericks.
