I am attempting to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 in Boot Camp. I have downloaded Apple_Win7_Upgrade_Utility.exe, but when I try to start it, I get an error "This utility is not intended for this OS". I downloaded it into my documents on Boot Camp Windows. Is there a different way to get this to work?
You have to purchase a Win 7 installer disc to upgrade. What you have is to upgrade the Win 7 drivers. It won't work until you have actually installed Win 7.
I have the Windows 7 Home Premium disc. Is this the same thing as an installer disc? I am trying to upgrade from Windows XP, and the AppleWin7UpgradeUtilities does not work on XP. (Evidently it only works on Vista.)
I believe it is provided it's not an OEM installer for a Windows PC but a true retail disc.
