My iphone won't restore, gives error 3014. What do I need to do to make my computer work with my iphone?

I went to back up my iphone and then update it and the update process stopped, saying it was unable to complete the update. Then my phone needed to be restored, but the restore stopped saying it was unable to complete restore with error 3014. I have a MacBook Pro with plenty of memory and no firewall on and my iphone is a 5s I bought last November.
