Auto Upload?

Are there any apps that auto upload photos/videos other than icloud? I have tried onedrive, dropbox, flikr, idrivesync, and goodle drive. None of them work unless you start them first (hence the auto is not exactly auto). Onedrive only works when you have the app open and in focus!

I recently jumped ship from android and I'm beginning to regret it. Is the only way to go down the icloud route and pay the high price for their storage?
