I can't get the sound!

Hi! I can't get the sound by using itunes & mplayerx & other video players even though I turn up the volume, but I do hear the sound on Youtube and other online players. Why this situation happened? btw, my quicktime works well. I really like mplayerx, but I cant get the sound! Can someone help me address this problem? Thanks so much!
