My iphone is water damaged but the liquid contact indicator hasnt been triggered, can my iphone be saved?

the only purpose the liquid indicator is there is to show apple that it had water damage

I have saved an ipod touch and an iphone 4 by putting them in an open bowl of uncooked rice right away and places it on a radiator or heated floor without trying to turn them on first

left them there 48 hours and they came back to life it's hit or miss really
