Convert Video Clip to Panorama Still?

Does anyone know of software that can take a video clip that essentially pans from left to right and convert that into a Panorama still picture?

I am currently using iMovie 5 but I wouldn’t think that would be an issue.

Thanks

Hi

Well it is - but there is a tedious (an partly costly) solution

Result will be so and so depending on quality of video material used

In iMovie - create a project containing only the pan-sequence

- Share/export it as Quicktime (highest res. possibly)

- open QuickTime player

- Export as Folders of .jpg photos

(MAY BE YOU NEED MPEG-Streamclip - to do this)

Now You got a folder full of .jpg photos

Select the best of these and then use - Adobe PhotoShop Elements and herin the Panorama function.

Works greatly - but if low quality of photos then the over all quality will not be any better.

Hi Bengt,

Sorry for the slow response to your solution which was not that tedious and not that costly. The video clip was already inside of iMovie. Exporting the clip as full quality results in a dv file which can be opened by MPEG Streamclip. The options there are to Export to Other Formats, then choose Image Sequence.

The result is one still image per video frame, so a 25 second, 30 frames per second clip results in 750 images. Selecting every 50th one is just about right and PE does the rest.

The quality is quite good, especially because selecting a single frame from a video clip is difficult to find one that is in good focus.

Thanks.
