Q: wont let me install OSX maverics, help

I have a mid 2007 IMAC with 500gb of hdd space and 2 gigs of ran, with leapord 10.7.5 but it wont let me install

Mac OS X (10.7.5), Wont install

Could you please post the model identifyer of your Mac?

Are you sure that the model is the "mid 2007" or is that when you purchased it?

And you mentioned 10.7.5 - that is Lion, not Leopard (which is 10.5.x) - so which one do you have?

FWIW, although 2 GB RAM is mentioned as a minimum, Mavericks will perform much better with a minimum of 4 GB.

ok my uncle sent me this mac and he said it was mid 2007, but i failed to look at the 'more info' on it and its late 2006

That iMac model isn't capable of running Mountain Lion or Mavericks.

If you're running 10.7.5, then that is the latest OS it can handle.
