Ipad mini won't connect to homesharing itunes on new laptop

Hi guys!

My ipad mini was connected to my laptop for over a year and I have home-sharing enabled on my itunes. It was all working fine! I recently got a new windows laptop and the ipad will not connect to the itunes on it. I have homesharing on my itunes on the new laptop but it still won't work. My ipad appears to be connected because on its screen it shows the itunes symbol and a lead and arrow - but this also won't go away so I can't get the ipad turned on or off or anything!

How do I get my ipad working again and how do I connect it to my itunes without losing my whole music library? Please help 😟
