ipod shuffle (4th generation)

My computer is running Windows 7. It does not recognise my ipod shuffle 4th generation even though it is turned on and fully charged and plugged into my computer with the USB cable that came with the ipod. the light does not come on on the ipod shuffle.

The shuffle does not need to be turned ON when connected to the computer.


If the computer is a laptop, its power adapter should be connected, so that it is not running on battery power.


Make sure the USB docking cable plug is completely inserted into the shuffle's headphones jack, as shown in this document.
