This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store

I have just signed up to Apple and have a confirmed Apple ID. I want to purchase a song on iTunes, but I am getting the message "This Apple ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store". I know this. It is what I am trying to do! It has never asked me for my payment details. Where can I enter these?
