Hi all,
a sudden but very irritating problem has arised on MBP. The sound line-in is totally dead. Microphone line-in is fine, there is sound out from headphones and built-in speakers. But I cannot record the sound from Youtube or other apps. Which, of course, is the only thing I want to do right now. Any ideas ?

Have you checked System Preferences>Sound>Input?
It might be helpful if you indicated the EXACT model MBP you have.

Yes, checked the System Preferences>Sound>Input. No sign of life on sound line-in.
I have a MBP 15 inch, 2,2 Ghz Intel core i7, 4GB 1333 Mhz DDR 3.

You may want to install soundflower, run soundflowerbed and then change the input/output.
If that doesn't work, send an image of what System Preferences>Sound>Input looks like.
