my ipad 1 (3G

my ipad 1 (3G and wifi), whenever I click on safari and type in any website (i.e. google) I am confronted with a pop up that says "Cannot Open Page: Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".... I am getting quite frustrated with this as I have been trying to figure it out for hours. I have looked at every forum when I search the problem on google on my computer and NONE of the fixes seem to work. please please please can someone give me a bit of their time and please help me solve this issue.
