Use fingerprint all the time and forgot passcode. does reset erase all my photos and things on phone?

I always use my fingerprint to get into my phone, i dont know my passcode and my daughter turned my phone off and when i turned it on i am asked to use a passcode first. Well now im locked out. and i have been to the iphone help and it says to reset phone. so please dont send me that link. i have it already pulled up. but does this mean that all my photos are gone. i went to my icloud account and nothing is backed up 😟. can i go to the apple store and would they be able to help?
