OSX Maverix macbook pro 15 inch started not recognizing Toshiba USB external hardisks anymore, but recognize flash disks.
Also USB external Hardisk are recognized by windows based dekstops. I have purchased new WD external hardisk for MAC but again same is not recognized by mac.
can anyone help please ?

You may have to remove the third party backup software. If you are using it as a clone, you'll probably also need to erase and reformat it with GUID partition scheme:

If neither helps, then the drive needs a new firmware.

thanks for the post, I went to seagate web page and downloaded mac drive for the external hardisk and installed same.
restarted and now it is working fine.
