EPS thumbnail previews and quicklook suddenly stopped working

The title sums things up really,

Awoke one morning to find EPS thumbnails were not appearing in finder windows, quicklook also resulted in nothing but the generic eps icon.

The same thing is happening with AI files, jpgs are working in quicklook but thumbnails are failing to load in many folders also.

I have tried:

• restarts

• repairing the boot drive disk permissions in disk utitily

• clearing quicklook using terminal qlmanage -r and -r cache commands

• deleting the qlook user preferences Daemon file found in user library

• installing a qlEPSgenerator in my quicklook folder - this works but results in memory issues that render the system unstable and unusable - "your system has run out of application memory"

thumbnails are appearing in adobe bridge but I did prefer being able to select my files in finder without having another adobe application open just to preview thumbs.

any help would be greatly appreciated

idlethumb - I was completely stuck on this too. I tried everything I could think of and followed a ton of bunny trails from variousl forums.

I"m running OS X 10.9 on a Macbook Pro.

In the past, thumbnail previews were pretty slow and sometimes not all of them would show. Recently they stopped working altogether.

I completely stumbled upon this - not sure why it's not being shared anywhere (unless it really is so simple and other are having problems beyond mine).

So here is what I did:

Opened the folder where my files are located (.ai and .eps in my case)

Selected All the files

Right clicked

Selected the last option "Reveal in Finder"

All of the Thurmbnails began populating instantly.

Hope this helps someone else out there.
