cheek dialing iphone 4

Since the 7.1 update my 4 cheekdials. sometimes the proximity sensor works and sometimes it doesnt

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1

Don't have a case on here that obscures the sensor. No screen protector. This all started when I upgraded from ios7 to ios7.1.
