Sync music from iPod to iTunes without deleting content.

I recently purchased an iPod nano from a friend. It includes her entire iTunes library (music and movies). I want to keep this music along with my iTunes library, and would like to sync some of my own library onto the iPod.

I do not want to delete my library.

How can I accomplish this?

If the existing content belongs to your friend, you should not keep it for legal reasons. You own the iPod now, but not the content. You should have iTunes replace that content with your content from your iTunes library.
