Finding Eastwest Libraries in Logic Pro X

Hi,

I've recently bought Logic Pro X. I already own several Eastwest virtual instruments, such as Hollywood Strings, but I can't seem to use them in Logic Pro X. I have installed (say) Hollywood Strings correctly, I believe, and I can see the Play component file in Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components. The Play AU is "successfully validated" in Logic's Audio Units Manager. But here's where the problem starts.

If I load a new track, I choose "software instrument". When I go to the plugin slot, under Audio Units, there's only "Apple" and not "Play" or "Eastwest" or anything similar.

Any help would be much appreciated. I've already updated both the OS and Play to the latest versions, and tried closing and re-opening Logic several times.

Some basic steps to clarify things a little...

Make sure you are clicking in the Instrument slot button and not the Insert FX slot...

(Also.. Don't try and use the library as they wont appear there...)

They will be found then, under the AudioUnits section (at the bottom) of the pop up menu that appears when you click on the instrument button...

If they do not appear there either you have not correctly installed and registered/Authorized them.. or you did not install the 64bit AU versions of Play... which is required by LPX....

Failing that... Post up a screenshot of the popup menu to show us what actually appears....

Finally, in case you haven't done so.. Go to LPX's preferences and under the Advanced tab.. turn on all the advanced features so you will be running under LPX mode and not "Garageband Pro" mode...
