Keeps recording audio track & software instrument as one!

I am trying to record piano & vocals at the same time but as separate tracks, but it won't let me! It keeps grouping the tracks together, but not in a track stack. Just like one of them is on top of the other one (see print screen).

Really irritating and just want to be able to record at same time but still have them in separate tracks so that I can edit them properly. Don't know how! PLEASE HELP.

Notice on the print screen that it is labelled 'Warm Vocal' and 'Steinway Grand Piano' but on the piano track it says warm vocal for some reason WHY. It's something to do with the fact that the number isn't highlighted on the far left. Notice '1' is highlighted next to warm vocal, but '5' isn't, next to Steinway. Really hope someone knows the solution.
