thanks fred

Scan them in and you can use iPhoto or Aperture to create a book. Below is a link from Apple that might provide the info you need:

https://www.apple.com/mac/print-products/

So from iPhoto I can go to books and save it as a PDF?

Can I go from iPhoto to iBooks Author and save it as an iBook?

That would be cool

Fred

  • I don't use iBooks Author, I would suggest posting on the iBooks and/or iPhoto forums for that information.

    No.

You need to import your content into iBooks Author.  You might try Pages instead and export to .epub format, that will give you better page flipping.

Once scanned into usable images - and not being over confident with iBooks Author and or Pages, I would suggest an option which only requires an iPad and is very easy to use.

Search the app store for "Book Creator"  by Redjumper.   There is a free  version to try, but the price of teh app is only a few dollars.

Once a book is complete,  you can make it available to friends and  faniky with computers and or iPads using an online "cloud" storage facility  like Dropbox... which is free.   You would  upload teh  completed book,  DRopbox allows you to make a link which can be emailed to your friends and family who in turn can download teh book and Dropbox allows to  to open direct into iBooks.  This is also a page flipping book, although I think the recent update allowed a "slide show" viewing option - which  removed the curl and and sldied teh images smoothly  left or right as required.

Its not my app and I gain nothing.. I  just use it myelf to  send  "photo albums" to my family back in the UK (I am in Australia)
