Help! My iPhone is frozen!

Okay, so earlier this week my iPhone 5c froze when I was on safari. I could put the phone to sleep but whenever I turned it on, it would still show the safari page; on the lock screen, on the home screen, and even the apps and accessories. After about twenty minutes, I shut the phone off and took out the SIM card. When I turned the phone on, it worked! This morning my phone was acting funny, so I decided to reset the settings; a usual thing for me becuase my iPod used to need it around three times a week. After waiting and waiting I got tired and left the room for a bit. When I got back my phone was still on the reset screen (you know, the one with the apple sign and the white loading bar underneath) and showed it was fully reset. So I waited a bit then became annoyed and attempted to shut the screen off. It worked. That's how I figured out the screen was frozen. So I tried to do what I did the first time my phone froze. IT didn't work and I can't even shut the phone off. Just put it into sleep. Its been over fifteen hours since it has frozen, and it is still frozen. This phone is brand new. It was a gift for Chirstmas of 2013. Please help! I'd appriciate it so much! I rather not have to reset my phone to the point where I have to get all my contacts back and such, but if that's the only way, I will. Please!

Hello iJustWannaKnow,

It sounds like your phone will not finish the reset that you told it to start, and the sleep/wake button will only puyt the screen to sleep. I recommend starting by resetting the phone, as this does not compromise your data:

To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If this does not get you back to your lock screen so you can use the phone, I would next try backing up your phone to iTunes:

Then put your device into recovery mode, and attempt a restore. Note: this will delete the data currently on the phone.
