iphoto - after OSX re-install...

Hi, maybe this issue was already posted somewhere before.

The Macbook Pro I bought came with iPhoto pre-installed.

After a fresh OSX reinstallation - that I was forced to carryout due to the harddisk crash - I wanted to reinstall iPhoto too.

But as there could be no 'purchase' record for iPhoto (as it had come pre-installed in my Mac), the Appstore only offers to make a purchase of the iPhoto app.

Has anyone faced this issue and been able to fix this, instead of a fresh purchase of the app?

reinstall from the original source

Could be

1 - the restore disks that came with the computer

or

2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased

or

3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

Thanks, but i;m afraid neither of three possibilities indicated is applicable in my case:

1- my macbook pro didnt come with any restore disks

2-as mentioned, I didnt purchase the iPhoto, but it had come pre-installed in the Mac when I purchased it.

3-Since I didnt purchase it from app store, it doesnt have any 'purchase record' for iphoto (as I had mentioned).

Those do apply - every Mac meets one of them

It sounds like #3 is the one you need to use

3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

But every mac has application available by one of these three
