iPad Air battery drains too fast. Please Help!

Hello everyone I recently bought an iPad Air wifi+4g. The problem is my iPad drains battery too much compared to my iPad 4 which I had previously, I'm using my Air the same way I used my old one, I have Bluetooth off, location services off, background app refresh off, brightness level set to minimum, reduce motion on, still wallpaper, email push off, but still as I'm writing this my iPad has dropped 1% of battery. If I view a video it drops 1% in a minute & in web browsing it takes a little more time. Please help me I'm very worried . Please reply quick. Thanks in Advance

I have an iPad Air which worked fine and no problems. For about 3-4 weeks it started losing charge alarmingly. Even when not being used it loses charge at about 15% per hour. All the "fixes" in here did no help. It is reported here that this is due to the last software update by apple but they will not admit it formally or otherwise.

other places to look are background app updates and notifications.

If all that stuff is off then you may want to consider backing it up and doing a restore....reset it back to factory settings and then restore from that backup.

then if it keeps going I'd make an appointment at your local apple store and have them check it out.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

I've got three iPads - an iPad 2 and two iPad Air - and my husband has his iPad Air, which we purchased three months ago.

All but his charge and deplete at around the same rate. The work iPad Air hasn't seen a charger in over a week and it's still at 95%. My husband's can't keep a charge overnight and takes twice as long to charge as the other three ipads.

He has only 12 apps and is using a 12W wart. His settings are good.

It's either a hardware problem - like a solder joint - or the battery.

For me, the issue very clearly began after the upgrade to IOS8. The iPad Air had gone from being able to perform for a solid day, if not more, and to retain a charge for days and days on end in sleep mode.

Post upgrade, I am lucky if I get two hours of use. And in sleep it rarely makes it more than 24 hours.

Before anyone asks, I never use location services, etc. And when not connected to WiFi, I turn the function off.

Effectively, IOS8 has taken a productive device and move it to the rubbish bin.
