I had to switch to Charter and can't get my email to work. Charter support was of no help. Any suggestions? Thank you

First thing is to get your new email address, user name, password, outgoing mail server and incoming mail server from Charter.

Then enter this info in a new Mail account using the Settings app.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Be sure you entered an outgoing mail server and password in the outgoing mail section even if that area says it is optional.

If you continue to have issues with your iSP's own offered email service, I have found that if you use something like Yahoo mail or Google GMail, or some other Internet email service that you never have to worry about issues from any ISP supported/supplied email service as the Internet/web mail service is independent from your ISP service.

The additional plus, is if you switch cable/ISP providers, you do not have to keep changing email addresses and reset up a new email address, either.
