My Apple TV (2nd Generation) can't connect to iTunes

Have noticed the last two days that my Apple TV cannot connect to Ttunes. Have tried resetting and restoring but it can't connect. Unable to Update Software because it cannot connect to iTunes. Have checked cables and router and they are all fine.


Any suggestions how to solve this problem? All help appreciated.

Macbook Pro 15", Mac OS X (10.6.5), Time Capsule 500G

After checking the settings and ensuring the location and DNS were correctly configured I still have no connection to iTunes.


I have been unable to signin to either the iTunes store or iCloud ... this is very weird as it does not recognise my ID for either.


I remain at a loss how to solve this matter.


Any further assistance from the community will be greatly appreciated
