iphone 5 screen makes popping sound

Hello,

The display screen on my iPhone 5 has come loose and makes a popping sound every time the screen is touched. Apple store in San Francisco (Powell St.) acknowledged this was a manufacturing defect; but Apple refuses to acknowledge or fix it as this replacement iPhone 5 provided by Apple has gone out-of-warranty. I have been trying to get this resolved for almost 4-5 months now.

Manufacturer defects should be covered for the lifetime of the product as the hardware is supplied by Apple not made at home by the consumer.

All the Apple customer service representatives read from their pre-written script is - 'Can I have your credit card information'?
