Q: iphoto stream not workimng from mac to ipad/iphone

I am noticing that if I delete a photo in photostream in iphoto on mac the same photo on ipad/iphone does not get deleted.

If I delete it on iphone the ipad is synced and deleted the photo as well.  Photo on Mac does not delete.

So it seems that iphoto is out of sync with the ipad/iphone.

I have photo stream turned on in iphoto and in iCloud on Mac.

I am wondering if this could be attributed to a process.  I read where there is a photostream agent that is supposed to be running.  I cannot find it in the activity manager.  Should this process be running?  If so how do I start it.  Closing iPhoto and then reopening it did not start it.

I am using the most current version of iphoto 9.5.1, Mavericks 10.9.2, ios7.1

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

iPhoto should be in sync with iCloud, not with a specific device. The photo stream is synced with iCloud, and the devices try to keep in sync with the current state of iCloud. The deletion will be synced, when the device is connected to Wi-Fi.

In Mavericks I am seeing this process a "iCloud photos". It responds immedialtely, as soon as I modify the Photo Stream - add to it or delete items.

Are you signed into iCloud with the same AppleID on all devices?

    Thanks for the reply.

As it turns out I was getting confused.  I had set preferences to automatically copy photo from icloud to iphoto library.  When you have this option set it create an event in Recent for the current month.  The photos in there are the ones that were saved to library.  So this is not the cloud.

Further down in the sidebar is the iCloud.  Clicking on that displays what is in the photo stream.  Once I deleted photo from iphone the change was made in iphoto on Mac.

    Thanks for your help.
