Vonage phone via cable modem

You should be able to set it up like this:

cable modem<->[WAN] ABS [LAN]<->Vonage Adapter

Have you tried that?

I have this setup and it works quite well.

Cable box output goes to the Vonage box. My Vonage is built into what is essentially a Linksys router with a phone jack. Take the ethernet from one of the Vonage box output jacks to the IN ethernet ( WAN ) jack on the Airport. I then have my Airport output ethernet jack (LAN) back out to my desktop Mac.

Having it setup this way lets the voice traffic have the best shot at getting the bandwidth it needs from the cable. The computers, where a little hiccup is less noticeable get the rest.

The Vonage phone jack I hooked up to a phone splitter so that one goes to the phone on my desk and the other goes into the telephone wall jack. Since I disconnected the phone company connection at the outside box, the phone wiring in my house is all connected to my Vonage and all the wired phones in the house work.

Isn't the whole purpose of going wireless NOT to have any cables connected to your computer?

The recommendation I posted does not have any cables going to any computers.

Unless I'm missing something, u r routing the ethernt cable back to your computer!

It appears that sailorscott has 2 computers. One desktop which connects via Ethernet and a laptop that connects wirelessly.
