I need to update my software, it says I have the latest update but I know I don't. I am still on OS X 10.6.8. Also my app store on my mac won't let me sign in, a display panel won't even show up to ask me to sign in so I can't update this way either.

v10.6.8 is the latest OS X version available for Snow Leopard.

As far as not being able to sign into the App Store ...

  • Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, and MacKeeper can prevent apps from downloading

  • Disable anti virus software if installed

  • Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall

or System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall
