My iMac is 3 years old and I am on my third mouse. The first 2 failed almost exactly a year apart. The keyboard now randomly disconnects. It works for now but I don't know what to expect with the track record of my mice. Anybody else having issues with these wireless accessories? Mine don't seem to last very long.

Did you know that there is a section exclusively for mouse and keyboard matters under the Peripherals title? There, if you research a little, you will find a number of recent questions like yours.
It is unusual for you to have to replace mice at the rate you do. Did you do it under the hardware warranty?
First check the batteries. Is there a steady green light showing or does it flicker or not show. Have you done anything to affect the pairing process?
