Q: since upgrading to mavericks i am having problems with mail, does anyone know why and how i can fix it?

Since I upgraded to Mavericks I am having problems with mail. I can no longer send or recieve mail.

Has anyomne else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

Is it an iCloud.com or me.com account? If it's neither you can ignore me - if yes, read on

In Mail>Preferences select the troublesome account on the left, click on the Advanced tab and make sure Apple Token is selected from the drop-down menu next to Authentication. Test to see if it works.
