when i try to do a software update; my ipad2 will "check for updates" but then returns with message "iOS 5.1.1 your software is up to date."
How do I get my ipad 2 to update to iOS 7?
I have tried plugging into itunes and updating from within there as well.
I have 12.8 GB available on my iPad.

That's an iPad 1. It can be upgraded only to 5.1.1.
MC349LL/A = iPad 1 3G + Wi-Fi (16 GB). I have the 32GB version and can confirm iOS 5.1.1 is the highest it will go.
