adobe plug in failure

I was instructed by Adobe to upgrade Flash Player to v13, so I did it and now nothing works thats requires Flash Player. All I get is a plug in failure message. Nothing else. I uninstalled and tried the older version again but now that gives a blocked plug in message and a box that says Adobe has a new release that fixes a serious secuirty issue so the use of the plug in is blocked. It would appear that Adobe chose to make the Flash product unusable as their answer to a secuirty issue. Any help?

It looks like Adobe released a faulty update. A lot of people are seeing plugin failures with today's Flash update (version 13.0.0.182). If you need to run Flash immediately, your best bet is to uninstall Flash and then temporarily reinstall the previous version. (See http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html for how to do that.)

Otherwise, just wait a day or so for a new update. The problem is widespread enough that I am sure Adobe is working on it urgently.

We are aware that Macs created between 2006 and 2007 are currently running into problems using the latest release of Flash Player (version 13). We apologize for the inconvenience that this is causing. We are actively investigating the cause and hope to have a full solution to you shortly. In the meantime, please follow this two step procedure which will revert you back to version 12.

  1. Download and run our uninstaller:http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/unins tall_flash_player_osx.dmg
  2. Download and run the version 12 installer from:http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac /install_flash_player_12_osx.dmg

@ditechspain: THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1)
In my first round of uninstalling the non-functioning Flash v13.0.0.182 from my 2007 Mac Pro 1,1, I used the file "Adobe Flash Player Install Manager.app" that I found in my App>Utilities folder . . . following by trying to reinstall Flash v12 using the dmg file that I originally used to intall v12 last year.

But, I kept getting an error message that Flash v12 failed to install.

2) In my second round of uninstalling Flash v13 and reinstalling v12, I used the links you provided.
And, after using the UNINSTALLER, I restarted my computer.
THEN, I used the v12 install link you provided.
After successfully installing v12, I again restarted my computer.

Gratefully, I am back to where I was prior to any involvment with Adobe Flash v13.0.0.182.
