zoom tool so slow

Coming from FCP7 to FCPX, I'm finding the interface really unresponsive.

I've found that a particular frustration of mine is that I can't zoom in quickly to my playhead.

In FCP7 I could set my playhead to a point, and then CLICK CLICK CLICK, i'd be in to the zoom level I want, make the edit, hit z again for zoom out and CLICK CLICK CLICK I'd be back out. Now when I try this with FCPX, I can click, maybe once per second.

I understand I can use the zoom tool and drag where I want to zoom into, but I preferred the other method because it's much faster.

Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?
