I am downloading seasons of shows on Itunes and all my digital movies on to my computer...transfering them to an external hardrive then sending them back to i cloud. i looked at the space available on my macbook air and theres hardly any space. any idea whats happening??

How are you "sending them back to i cloud"?
They are already in iTunes in the Cloud, even before you purchase them.

Are you deleting them from the MacBook Air then emptying the trash?
