Help! iMessage is stuck with my email as primary contact instead of my number. I can't remove the email address!

iMessage is stuck with my email as primary. I have my phone number set for start conversations but I can't reset the primary. I also can't delete the email address.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.1

Try signing out of iMessage and then signing back in to relink your phone number to your Apple ID. From there you should be to select your phone number again and deselect any email address’s that you do not want.
