How to get around the stupid 100 mb download limit on ipad without wifi

That's odd; as I said, I have been downloading updates much larger than 100 MB for several weeks, the largest was 300 MB. I wonder if it's a carrier limitation; I have at&t.

Well it means i will stick with ITunes 12.6 and IOS 10 until they've change their mind about this ridiculous limitation.

Absolutely non sensical feature. It should be upto users.

Also for a phone worth a bomb, so small call log, I have iPhone 7 and for day to day usage still use that Galaxy S6. Even a month old call detail show up.

It fascinates me that people who don't understand the reason for something call it "stupid" or "nonsensical." The reason, in this case, has already been posted in this thread (right above your post, among other places), so apparently no one reads what they post to either.

I, too, have always been fascinated by the people who keep saying "That doesn't make sense...." when they don't like an answer. And keep saying it as though, eventually, you'll give the a different answer so they'll stop.

Already done that and gave them the link of this and other threads related to same topic so that they know how their customers are feeling.

I don't have anything against Apple. In fact, I really like this company because of the level of service it provides, the ecosystem it has built for it's devices, etc.

But something like this really irritates me. Settings like this should not be thrown to people. It should be a configurable option, instead.

I have 20 Mbps broadband connection but my 4G connection is very fast (around 50Mbps) and I have enough data cap to download a 10GB file. (I have 30GB data cap) So, in this case my carrier is not restricting me, I can stream a 3-4GB HD movie from Hotstar but I can't download a 1.3 GB Garageband update.

Tap the app to download. It will prompt the 100 Mb limit. Tap Ok. Come to home sreen by clicking the home button. You will see the icon Waiting.... Tap it once. Shut your iPhone. Start again. Check your waiting icon. It will be downloading.
