How to get around the stupid 100 mb download limit on ipad without wifi

Hi. I have a brand new IPad Air cellular + wifi with 128 gb. I also have an unlimited 3G connectivity. But the stupid 100 mb limit has made my life very difficult. Please suggest some ways to download files larger than 100mb without wifi. I am located in India and I have confirmed from my telecom service provider that there is no maximum limit on downloads.

As of 10.3.x and maybe earlier, that only works for multi part downloads. Single file updates don't download unless on wifi. An archaic requirement.

And the use public wifi method isn't a solution. Many won't touch public wifi networks.

An override to this is an absolute must.

Come on Apple. I am allowed to download a 4 gig video but not a 230 meg app?!? This must be some sort of long standing joke!

I had no clue of this what so ever before I purchased wifi-cellular air a few days back.

The funny part is that I also hooked up with 4G for 2 years contract thinking that I could actually go out and still do and download stuff with that 100M 4G..

I'm really missing the point with that limitation, why can't they just add an option to do it anyways..

It really ****** me off when my broadband is actually slower than the cellular I took for the device and the only way to utilize it is with Facebook, news and YouTube..

Apple is an extremely good example of a capitalist company, which, according to most, is the opposite of communism and generally considered not incompatible with democracy (though there are those who would disagree with that latter assumption). Before you start tossing around economic and socio-political terms, try finding out what they mean. You'll sound smarter.

Believe me ... this is not a stupid limit, as there would be thosands of complaints from users blowing through their data limits on cellular if Apple didn't do this. That limit is there for a very good reason and there for the vast and overwhelming majority of users.

Apple is also helping the carriers by keeping down network loads.

I've accidently discovered the way to bypass stupid 100mb limit for Apps from AppStore on iOS 8 over LTE:

1) Attempt to download the app, you'll be promted with warning that you must be on wifi, but app's icon will be placed on home screen in "waiting status"

2) Do reboot your device, hold down power button and slide to power off, then turn on your device.

3) Magically your apps that were in Waiting status will begin download as on wifi.

I have unlimited LTE (really unlimited by speed and without bandwith cap). My home wifi connection is much slower than LTE. I belive not Apple, but only users should decide themselves and have ability to set/unset limitations in Settings. By default it should be set to limit, I agree, as safe measure for some not advanced users, but option to unset limit should be included In Settings.

PS: Sorry for my english.

I believe apple is doing this due to some other reasons related to Network operators complains against mobiles manufacturer

like T-Mobile or any other service provider around the world will do a complete study on their networks and analyze what are the most devices causing drops there? and when Apple limit the user downloads to 100 MB, it is simply decreases the chances of such things to keep the brand name in a good shape,

like the chance to have a drop/service interruption (especially for mobility (vehicular) users) when you download a 1 GB is much higher compared to when you download only 100 MB,, so mostly world wide when you do a study in the operators network on which devices cause drops ,, Apple devices will be the least ones causing issues

so simply Apple is protecting their brand name

Anyway, I hate this and I face the same issue on my iPad and it is frustrating -- and I wish that this issue will be resolved and this limitation removed
