Q: I have a Mac Book, older model, but am trying to install Office Suite for Mac.  On the PDF instructions it says that I need OS Snow Leopard 10.6 or higher.  Is this the standard OS or do I need to install this before downloading Office suite?  Thanks

Need some help/ info.  I am trying to download Office Suite on an older Mac Book 6,1.  The PDF instructions say this requires OS Snow Leopard 10.6 or higher.  Is this the standard OS or do I have to download that first?  Coming from a novice background.  Thanks for your help!

Select About This Mac from your Apple menu.

It will say

 

  OS X

Version 10.x.y

 

If it is 10.6.8 or later (ie. 10.7.y, 10.8.y, 10.9.y), then you have a suitable OS.

10.6 is Snow Leopard

10.7 is Lion

10.8 is Mountain Lion

10.9 is Mavericks
