Thank you Thank you Thank you. I have been agonizing over this for a while.
I Found out how to reset keychain. When inputting your code click the blue link saying forgot your code. then it should ask you to reset or whatever. Just follow the prompts and it will work.
This helped me too! Thank you very much!
Actually for iOS 9 or later Tap Settings>iCloud>Keychain>Advanced and then update or add the phone number and select your country .Hope this helps
Well... for some reason the phone number was incorrect. I had to set up a time for Apple Support to call me. Someone called me, went over some security and billing questions to ensure I was who I claim to be, then they changed something in my account... I had to restart my phone and once it came back on again, I was able to change it.
Haiti does not even exist in Apple's keychain phone numbers!
Unbelievable.
I was on the phone with Apple Support for 45 minutes when I upgraded to the new software and they couldn't even tell me how to change my number on my device. With this new update, I didn't want to do hold again so I googled and your answer popped up. Thank you so much!!! It was so easy!!
In my case the only one problem seems that i was the weak passcode used before. It is possible that apples enforce the policies of stronger passwords .
Once I changed the password from 4 to 6 characters I was able to change the phone number without any problems.
Regards
I don't have an option to disable iCloud in my iPod touch IOS. After choosing iCloud. I only have an option to sign out. I tried to just sign out, but I was given no option to delete (you will be asked to delete or keep passwords on device) i chose delete.... like dusanp83suggested. Probably because I cannot figure out how to disable the iCloud account on my SMS. I changed my cell phone number last year, and get the message every few days from apple, saying that my iCloud account isn't completely set up. The only thing that apple says to do is contact support. Unfortunately my able plan has expired, and I'm not going to spend money to fix a problem that apple created. I suppose I'm partly at fault for not using a holier then though iPhone. Yes iCloud has some good features, but the headaches it has caused are not worth it.
I completely reset my iCloud account, but had absolutely no success. Apparently iCloud, didn't keep hold of everything, or did and refused to send it back to me. I lost a bunch of contacts. I also just tried to reset my two step verification, because the second step is entering a number sent to my cell phone. I'm hoping that resetting it will allow me to enter a new cell phone #. Unfortunately apple security won't even let me reset my verification till Monday the 31st. I've had problem after problem wt cloud. since it's inception. In theory it maybe a good idea, but in application and practicality no. There is one way around this, pay apple $29.00 for support call. Over the last 8 years, I've paid over $1000 to apple, in hardware, software, and applecare. At one time, I would have said it was money well spent. Today, I'm not going to give them one more penny.
My passcode is 10 characters long, wt both numbers & capital letters, I really can't see how that is too easy to figure out. What do they want, a 30 digit passcode wt &,* and ^ signs?

Why don't we pretend for a second that we know a simple fact that since 2011 Apple supported all icloud problems free of charge and give Apple a call, obviously you have run in to something you don't understand, worse yet, I could not. You seem to have mixed up in three posts, keychain and apple id with unverified account and two factor authentication and possibly some other problem.
I didn't mention my Apple ID or, keychain anywhere, and they both still work fine. The problem is only changing the phone # associated wt my iCloud account, so that I can verify that my iCloud account, verified last year on my old phone, is mine. If my posts are a little disjointed, it is because I am trying everything possible, that got a "this helped me." Unfortunately none have marked the problem off as solved. Most problems are eventually solved, and if I still had free Apple Care, I would have replied wt a solution. Funny how no-one has ever replied wt the solution, even when Apple was offering free iCloud help. I took a look back through this forum, and this problem is two years old ...
