duplex printing with Canon MX455

I've recently bought a Canon MX455 and now it appears it won't allow me to duplex print! I'm running OS X 10.9.2. Is it correct that I won't get this printer to use the duplex method or is there a way round the problem?

This is a hardware limitation, the MX455 is not built for automated two sided printing.

The printer driver software is common to many printers in the Canon range, duplex option is visible as other printers that use the same driver will alow two sided operation, its grayed out as the hardware does not support duplex.

Perhaps look into swapping it over for an auto duplex printer.

Very many thanks and it's a lesson not to buy something without reading the specs more carefully. I only started using it yesterday - brand new! It just hadn't crossed my mind that a modern printer wouldn't have that facility, as my really old Canon did. I'm most grateful for all the help and a new and carefully checked-for-specs printer is ordered!
