Early 2011 MBP - Runs very slowly, beachballs more often than not.

My MBP (13-inch, early 2011) has been running terribly slow for almost half a year now. Reboots don't make a difference, and eveyrtime I bring up applications like Lightroom or even Microsoft Office, I'd suffer from at least 2 minutes of beachballs before anything moves again (and the subsequent experience in these apps aren't exactly the smoothest either).

I'm really bad with all the troubleshooting efforts, and may or may not have installed one too many addons/plugins. Would love to get some aid on how to remove them too.

Harrislim,

if you boot into Safe mode, does your MacBook Pro still run very slowly?

In normal mode, if you log in as your administrative user and create a new standard user (say, “Test”), and then log out and log in as the new user, does your MacBook Pro still run very slowly for the new user?

There are newer versions of at least Flash Player and DeSmuME available.

Early 2011 MBP - Runs very slowly, beachballs more often than not.
