Q: pages 1712 error - my downloaded document wont open

I am attempting to open a document I downloaded from the bank and all I get is pages 1712 error code. This problem never used to occur before I did the last system upgrade.

    The forum Pages deals with the application Pages, not all kinds of pages. You probably better of asking you question in the MacOs ... what ever version you use.

    Unless you want us to play 20 questions, it really helps to give some details.

     

    What is the "document"?

     

    I doubt it is a .pages document.

     

    My guess is that it is an .rtf file which Pages 5 (you haven't said what you are using) won't open.

     

    Pages '08/'09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder, try opening it with that.

    If you haven't already done so, restart and try again. If an application won't quit and prevents restarting, force quit. As a last resort, force a shutdown by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Then press it again briefly to start up.
