Q: Saving folder to airport seperate from back up files

I have an old folder on my computer that I want to delete to save space, but I want to make sure it stays backed up on my airport.  Is there a way I can put a particular folder on my airport that is seperate from the back up files?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Most people recommend that you partition the drive and store files separately from a backup, but I have stored files on the same partition and never had a problem. Either way, just copy the files over, make sure it arrived in one piece, and then delete it off your hard drive.
