Corrupted updates, flash crashing and iTunes missing components

It appears my mac is falling apart, please help! (Version 10.8.3)

It restarts constantly due to problems, flash crashes regularly and iTunes (11.0.2) has now decided that it is lacking a key component and has wiped all my music since 2010 (luckily its all backed up on time machine).

I'm pretty sure the problem lies with updates. I've been unable to install the OS X update Combined 10.8.5 along with iTunes, iPhoto, Airport Utility etc and the same with the OS X Mavericks upgrade. Each time I try to update it tells me that files are corrupted.

Please advise how to correct the corruptions so that I can update everything and fingers crossed this will reduce the regular meltdowns.
