iMessage and FaceTime won't work

iMessage looks like it's working because I can open it and send messages, however the poeple don't recieve them and I am constantly prompted to enter my iMessage password even when I'm not in the app. FaceTime also doesn't work, every call I try and make 'fails'.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

I just discovered a possibility. I you send bulk iMessages and enough people report them as SPAM, then Apple will block you from sending iMessages or using FaceTime. You get one reprieve ... a second time and it's permanent. Your device will not be allowed to use either.
