My iPad will not turn on. Tried holding down power and home buttons, but no luck. COnnected to iTunes and am attempting to restore to factory settings but it has been stuck on Recovery mode for 2+ hours.

Are you using recovery mode like this?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Support - Apple
If that's what you are doing and it's not working, eject the iPad, restart or reset it and turn off your firewall and disable your antivirus software and then try recovery mode again.
