iTunes keeps randomly popping up?

I'll just be using the internet, and then suddenly iTunes will pop up randomly and then start playing music. I'll then close it, but like 30 seconds later it'll pop back up. I'll close it again, and then it'll pop back up after some time. The time varies a lot, from like hours to seconds, but it keeps happening multiple times a day, and it's extremely annoying. How do I fix this? iTunes is fully updated and I checked the "do not automatically sync with devices" box or whatever it's called.

Hello Charlie,

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with iTunes launching automatically.

I recommend reviewing the following article to see if any third-party plug-ins could be causing the issue:

I also recommend verifying that your software is up to date. You can check for updates by going to Apple () menu > Software Update…

You can find more information here:

OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps

If the issue persists, I recommend reinstalling iTunes:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Best,

Sheila M.
