Iphone 5c wont show up on itunes, says error occurred

So every time i plug my phone in, itunes will open but nothing will happen, then after a little bit a message shows up that either says, "error itunes could not connect to the iphone because the device timed out"

and it wont show up anywhere on itunes or anything. Ive already tried uninstalling itunes, updating both iphone and itunes, deleting drivers and updating them and everything else people said to do on here and it didnt work. I restarted my computer and everything. My phone does charge, but doesnt show up anywhere. please help before i throw this phone out the window. thanks.
